Philadelphia City Controller Issues Monthly Economic Report
The Financial Forecast Snapshot is a document produced by the Financial and Policy Analysis staff of the City Controller’s office. This snapshot presents key economic data for the nation, the Greater Philadelphia region, and the City of Philadelphia. The financial forecast is a collection of projections from economic institutions and an analysis of those projections in an attempt to predict future economic performance for the U.S and for the region. The snapshot also compiles data on unemployment rates and the City’s collection of sales, wage and net profits taxes. The City’s unemployment rate for February 2010 was 11.4%, the highest it has been since May, 1983.
