I wanted to take a moment of your time and share a new Educational Development Center publication that may be of interest. ?Afterschool Time: Choices, Challenges and New Directions,? is our latest look across the agency at our work in afterschool, especially as it relates to the integration of academic content. You can find online versions of the articles as well as a PDF at:
http://main.edc.org/Mosaic/Mosaic11/toc.asp
The issue features a roundtable discussion between Bernie Zubrowski, one of our Senior Scientists and developer of the Design It! and Explore It! programs, Laura Jeffers from our Center for Children and Technology who has conducted a number of evaluation efforts with out-of-school time media and technology programs, Ellen Gannett of NIOST, a frequent collaborator of ours, and yours truly, representing the work of YouthLearn and EDC?s Education, Employment and Community programs. The publication also includes background on a number of our afterschool efforts over the last ten years or so, as well as links for additional information. I hope you find these resources useful.
