Posted by on September 29, 2006
The Growing Connection
TGC is a pilot project, developed by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN and American Horticultural Soceity, to realize innovative, sustainable solutions to hunger, malnutrition and poverty worldwide. Young people grow food together using low-cost, water-efficient techniques to combat hunger and develop stewardship and entrepreneurship. Using Internet and IT connectivity, participants gather data, contact expert sources, and communicate with each other, fostering cultural exchange. More information is available by visiting http://www.thegrowingconnection.org, or by contacting Robert Patterson at 202-653-2438 or Robert.Patterson@fao.org.
