New Poll: Large Majorities of Americans Want Nonprofits to Facilitate Civic Engagement

In Independent Sector’s most recent polling, Americans expressed strong support for nonprofit organizations facilitating civic engagement through activities like registering voters and educating communities about voting rights. 85% of Americans agree nonprofits should help people learn about issues impacting their communities, and 80% of Americans agree nonprofits should help people learn about candidates’ positions on the issues impacting their communities. 80% of Americans agree nonprofits should help people in their communities register to vote.
