New Org: National Neighborhood Alliance

National Neighborhood Alliance launched
United Way Worldwide has joined with other leading organizations in launching the National Neighborhood Alliance, a voluntary collaboration of national, state and local organizations that are supporting work in communities of concentrated poverty.
The Alliance will provide a forum for interested organizations to meet and share information about their efforts to help improve results for communities of concentrated poverty, including activities related to federal programs such as Promise Neighborhoods, Choice Neighborhoods, and similar public and private neighborhood initiatives.
Starting in October, the Alliance will begin holding a series of regular, monthly conference calls to share information about work in, or support of, these communities. The calls will also serve as a forum for sharing information on advocacy efforts.
The new Alliance grew from a common interest among a number of national organizations in maintaining contact with and providing ongoing support, technical assistance, and resources to communities who are doing strong collaborative work to improve outcomes for young people and combat community poverty.
