Posted by Metropolitan Universities journal on March 28, 2023
The latest issue of Metropolitan Universities journal (MUJ), Vol. 34 No. 2 (2023): The Pedagogy of Place-Based Initiatives and Anchor Institutions is now available online. Thank you to guest editors Patrick M. Green and Susan Haarman from the Center for Engaged Learning, Teaching, and Scholarship (CELTS) at Loyola University Chicago.
Two articles from this issue of Metropolitan Universities journal were written by “The Way Forward” (TWF) grantees (PHENND was also a grantee):
“Seeking Justice, Seeking Hope: Refugee Resettlement Campuses and Transformative Pedagogy in Higher Education” (accessible here) was written by our friends at Guilford College – Diya Abdo, Sonalini Sapra, and Christian Matheis.
“Putting Deliberative Pedagogy in Place: How Colleges and Universities Can Help Build a More Democratic Society” (accessible here) was written by Nicholas Longo of Providence College.
Published by the Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities (CUMU), MUJ disseminates scholarship and research relevant to urban and metropolitan universities. Articles amplify the mission of CUMU by reinforcing the value of place-based institutions and illuminating our collective work of supporting the changing needs of our students, institutions, and cities. We accept manuscripts on an ongoing basis.
