Cigna Foundation Invites Proposals for New Health and Well-Being Grant Program
The Cigna Foundation today announced an open call for applications for its new Health and Well-Being grant program, part of an ongoing initiative to improve access to quality care and eliminate health disparities.
Despite steady improvement in overall health outcomes over the past decade, many under-resourced communities continue to experience substantial health inequities. For instance, research shows that low-income individuals experience more barriers to care and receive poorer quality care than high-income individuals.
In 2021, the foundation plans to award more than $3 million in grants to nonprofits and community organizations focused on addressing these challenges.
Nonprofit organizations are invited to apply for grants beginning March 22; the window for proposals will close on April 23, although additional opportunities to apply to the program will be announced throughout the year. Grants will be awarded this July.
Qualified nonprofits must specifically address health and well-being with a program(s) focused on health navigation to improve overall access to care, treatment, and/or medications.
See the Cigna Foundation website for additional details, eligibility criteria, and a link to the application form.
Deadline: April 23, 2021
