Subject: Education Programs Guide for Out of School Youth Available

The Philadelphia Youth Network has issued the Education Programs Guide for Out-of-School Youth in Philadelphia, which has almost 80 entries of organizations that provide GED track programming, diploma programs, basic literacy, and/or ESL services for out-of-school youth.

The guide is available for download from http://www.osyphila.org. Click on the white text “Education Programs Guide…” located on the center of the home page.

All entries are coded with a key for each of these services. One can use the guide on line by navigating with hyperlinks, print it as a book for youth, families, and staff, or print select pages for a young person that wants to know about Adult Evening High School and Educational Options only. The guide also has GED test site info, charter school information, School District Policies and Procedures (for example…How to Obtain a Transcript). Appendices list all programs in each service category, and education programs by citywide geographic locations.

PYN hopes to expand the guide to include more programs; the online guide allows one to update program information, or send information for a program was not included.

For more information, visit http://www.osyphila.org or contact Grace Cannon at 215-875-3833 or gcannon@osyphila.org.
