New DigitalEquityPHL Website
Posted by City of Philadelphia on November 29, 2022
“Digital equity” means every resident has access to reliable internet, devices, and the digital skills needed to use these tools. The City of Philadelphia’s Office of Innovation and Technology has made Digital Equity a top priority.
The City has launched many successful programs and initiatives to eliminate the digital divide for Philadelphia residents. Since 2020, we’ve made significant impact in reducing the number of people without access to internet from 30% to 16%. We don’t plan on slowing down as we continue implementing our 5 Year Digital Equity Plan.
The Office of Innovation and Technology is excited to announce the launch of DigitalEquityPHL, our dedicated digital equity web presence on phila.gov! This website is a comprehensive “one stop shop” to the digital equity resources and information residents of Philadelphia.
What you can find online at DigitalEquityPHL:
- How to get free or low cost internet
- Online and in-person digital skills classes
- Where to find free or low cost devices
- How to connect with a Digital Navigator
- Where to find a public computer center
You can also find flyers, our Household Internet Assessment Survey and other publications, blog posts, grant opportunities, and ways to stay engaged with the Digital Equity work through our listserv.
We invite you to explore the new website and share these resources with your networks! DigitalEquityPHL and its partners are proud to do this work for our community.
