Posted by Afterschool Alliance on January 19, 2021
America After 3PM 2020 finds that, while unmet demand for programs is high nationwide (50%), it’s especially high among Black (58%) and Latinx (55%) families. Parents were more likely to report challenges accessing afterschool programs compared to data from 2014, with cost and access topping the list of participation roadblocks.
Support for afterschool is at an all-time high, with programs earning a 94% satisfaction rate from parents, and 87% of parents overwhelmingly supporting public funding for afterschool.
