I’d like to announce the publication of the Troublemaker’s Teaparty, A Manual for Effective Citizen Action. The book is an expansion of The Citizen’s Handbook, A Guide to Building Community in Vancouver which has been available on the web since 1995 at http://www.vcn.bc.ca/citizens-handbook.
A “how to” intended for individuals, and small all-volunteer groups; the book summarizes the experience of many of the best activists, organizers and community animators. It also contains, a summary of IAF methods, a summary and update of the resource mobilization theory of social movements, and ways to prevent various forms of “grassroots wilt” that so often destroy small groups.
