New Book: The Pedagogy of Confidence
Posted by on March 27, 2011
The Pedagogy of Confidence will restore teachers’ belief in their ability to help all students perform at high intellectual levels. In her new book, Yvette Jackson outlines a simple but radical approach to teaching that builds on students’ strengths in order to develop instruction that is both relevant and motivational.
The Pedagogy of Confidence draws from neuroscience, cognitive psychology and classroom experience to outline an exciting new vision to help teachers and students reach their full potential. Jackson also sheds new light on why so many well intended school reform efforts have failed to raise the achievement of underperforming students, particularly in urban communities.
Most importantly, the fresh approach to teaching offered in The Pedagogy of Confidence will rekindle the confidence of educators and students to reach new heights.
