Now available online: Service-Learning in Engineering: A Resource Guidebook, by William Oakes, PE.
This 86-page guide offers all of the material needed to conduct a service-learning workshop for engineering faculty and administrators. The text includes concepts and rationales, examples of current practice, and a guide to implementing service-learning in the classroom. Detailed appendices offer guided questions to help identify specific needs, examples of engineering service-learning projects and syllabi, and sample forms and evaluation tools. An accompanying set of PowerPoint slides can be adapted for individual workshop use.
