New Book: Getting Ready, The Liberal Arts and Sciences in the Post-Pandemic World
Posted by American Association of Colleges & Universities on February 8, 2022
The COVID-19 pandemic has been a demanding teacher. In Getting Ready, William D. Adams explores how colleges and universities can draw from the pandemic’s lessons about science, history, culture, and technology—as well as harsh truths about politics, systemic racism, economic inequality, and the fragile nature of democracy—to prepare future generations of students for work, civic participation, and making meaning in their own lives. In the process, Adams makes the strongest possible pitch for the relevance and value of the liberal arts and sciences in the post-pandemic world.
