New Article: Dewey, Implementation, and Creating a Democratic Civic University
Posted by Netter Center for Community Partnerships on April 18, 2023
Netter Center for Community Partnerships founding director Ira Harkavy’s latest article, “Dewey, Implementation, and Creating a Democratic Civic University,” is based on a keynote he gave last year to the Society for the Advancement of American Philosophy. The piece calls on faculty to engage in democratic implementation research with members of their university’s local geographic community to help create democratic civic universities, whose primary mission would be advancing democracy democratically on campus, in the community and across the wider society.
