New Article: Community Schools See Revival in Time of Heightened Need

There is growing momentum for the community school model, which represents between 6% and 8% of US schools, with President Joe Biden’s budget resolution including $442 million for schools that want to become community schools — about 15 times more federal aid than currently received. Linda Darling-Hammond, president and CEO of the Learning Policy Institute, said the nation’s “tattered safety net for children” makes community schools preferable.
