Job Description ? Network Promoter

Salary Range: $33,000-37,000 DOQ
Supervisor: NEN Team Leader
Work Location: Harrisburg PA

Qualifications
? 4-year degree
? Strong verbal presentation skills, both one-to-one and in group settings
? Strong coordinating skills
? Aptitude for team-oriented goal setting and implementation
? Work experience initiating contact with people in an opportunity-oriented environment
? Previous work experience in communications and public relations a plus
? Motivated by potential of nutrition education to improve life for food insecure households
? Able and willing to engage in frequent overnight travel using own vehicle

Duties
1. Build public support for nutrition education (15 percent)
? Become familiar with the literature related to dietary practices of low-income households and best practices in nutrition education.
? Become acquainted with opinion leaders in government, business, education and the media who may have interest in nutrition education.
? Nurture that interest and channel it in ways that supports the cause of nutrition ed.

2. Promote the PA Nutrition Education Program (PANEP) (20 percent)
? Become acquainted with the funding mechanism of the PANEP and how it can be used to fund new nutrition education initiatives.
? Communicate that knowledge strategically and efficiently to potential project entities.
? Seek additional financial and human resources for the PANEP.

3. Increase membership and interaction within the Nutrition Education Network (50 percent)
? Build enthusiasm for and commitment to the Network by planning and implementing:
– quality committee, steering committee and Network meetings;
– the Network?s part of an annual conference
– other events that enrich Network membership and attract new members.
? Communicate regularly with Network members and facilitate appropriate interactions around NEN and PANEP concerns and issues.
? Represent the Network in public forums and in meetings where the course of nutrition education in Pennsylvania is being shaped.
? Provide regular reports to the administrative staff of the PANEP, including counsel and feedback on the administration and marketing of the PANEP.

4. Monitor Nutrition Education Network projects (15 percent)
? Interact with entities funded by the NEN and encourage quality performance, timely reporting and collection of required documentation data.
? Monitor and ensure Hunger Action?s timely reporting and collection of required documentation data.
