Neighborhood Land Power Project (NLPP) (Formerly Urban Tree Connection): Info Sessions – Nov 8 & 15

Posted by Neighborhood Land Power Project (NLPP) on November 7, 2023

We’re proud to share with you that the organization formerly known as Urban Tree Connection is now Neighborhood Land Power Project (NLPP). To mark this new chapter in our history, we’re welcoming a new organizational logo and slogan.

This new slogan honors our history and future of community leadership. If you know us, you know we center our people and the land we collectively steward. We are a place-based organization, a part of the fabric of Haddington and surrounding neighborhoods in West Philly.

Yet the name Neighborhood Land Power Project emphasizes neighborhood over Haddington. Why? Because the work of building community power to fight for food sovereignty and land justice goes beyond Haddington or even Philadelphia. We believe all people have the right to food that reflects their culture and history, and that is grown in a way which honors the land and those with deep ties to it. By preserving and protecting land, we ensure that it has the ability to offer us its best: to nurture us, heal us, and give us a sense of belonging.

This new organizational identity was discovered and given life through a collaborative effort by our staff and board, neighbors and partners and all the people that have made and sustained this organization before us – they have laid the groundwork for our transformation. We are also deeply grateful to the team at Grid Principles whose talent and vision has helped make this change a reality.

If you would like to learn more about our new identity and how it embodies our daily work, we are holding two short Zoom sessions on November 8th at 12pm EST and November 15th at 6pm EST.

Register.
