National Youth Participation in America’s Schools Survey – Jun 10

Posted by Youth Service America on May 24, 2022

With support from The Allstate Foundation as the Founding Sponsor of the 50% Youth Participation by America250 campaign, Youth Service America (YSA) launched a national survey to measure the prevalence of community service, service-learning, civic engagement, and leadership opportunities for students in America’s K-12 schools.

We need the help of all K-12 school principals across the country to establish the baseline so we can track our collective progress in the years ahead. We’re asking principals or other school administrators (assistant principals, guidance counselors, activity directors, service-learning or community partnerships coordinators, etc.) to complete the survey on behalf of their schools by Friday, June 10.

Results will be published in a new State of Youth Participation report this July to mark the beginning of a 4-year countdown to America’s Semiquincentennial in July 2026.

As a thank you for completing the survey, 50 respondents will be randomly selected to receive $250 in credits to First Book Marketplace or a donation to their school.

All K-12 principals should receive an e-mail invitation from Youth Service America via Qualtrics on Thursday, May 20 with a unique link to complete the survey. (Principals should look for an e-mail from YSA@qualtrics-research.com.) If you did not receive or can’t find it, please e-mail survey@ysa.org and YSA staff will send you your link.

Everyone else who isn’t a principal, please help YSA reach out to any K-12 school principal you know and encourage them to complete this survey.
