National Youth Leadership Training
Posted by on February 18, 2005
The National Youth Leadership Council invites groups of high school students from across the country to sign up for the National Youth Leadership Training, July 17-24, 2005, at the Audubon Center of the North Woods in Sandstone, Minn. A service-learning-based leadership program, NYLT is a week of high-adventure activities, leadership seminars, cultural events, and service-learning projects, all in an exciting camp setting.
The program is ideal for groups of two to 10 youths and one or more adult partners, including those from schools, leadership organizations, and community- and faith-based organizations. As part of the training, each team will create an action plan for a project in their home community. Following the training, groups return home, and implement their projects with support from NYLC’s network of service-learning practitioners.
NYLT is an excellent opportunity to increase students’ leadership skills, commitment to community involvement, and understanding of diversity. Registration forms will be available from our website by March 1, and a listserv announcement will be sent out as soon as registration opens. In the meantime, please visit www.nylc.org/nylt for more information, and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Ashley Shaver
