National Webinar – Office of Management & Budget (OMB) Uniform Guidance: What the Updates Mean for Nonprofits – May 30
Posted by National Council of Nonprofits on May 21, 2024
A national webinar from the National Council of Nonprofits will be available from 3:30-4:30 PM eastern on Thursday, May 30 for an overview of recent changes to the Office of Management & Budget’s (OMB) Uniform Guidance and the implications for nonprofits. On April 4, the OMB released a major rewrite of the Uniform Guidance, the set of common rules governing most federal grantmaking to charitable nonprofits, state, local, and Tribal governments, and others, effective October 1, 2024. This rewrite:
- Addresses longstanding problems in covering nonprofits’ actual costs;
- Advances equity by making grants accessible to more organizations and communities; and
- Makes other significant reforms that will reduce bureaucratic barriers and burdens and costs of seeking, performing, and reporting on grants using federal funds.
In this free webinar, Deidre Harrison and Steven P. Mackey of the OMB will provide an overview of the Uniform Guidance, the new revisions, and the implementation timeline. Experts from NCN networks will share real-life examples of how these improvements are already helping nonprofits.
