National Society for Experiential Education Annual Conference
Posted by on June 3, 2005
Greetings from NSEE! I trust each of you has had a good, productive academic year as it is drawing to a close. Perhaps this summer will allow some down time to re-energize.
I want to take this opportunity to share with you our pre-conference program brochure for what promises to be an exciting NSEE annual conference in Philadelphia, October 27 ? 30, 2005. The theme of our conference this year is, ?Experience Philadelphia & Renew the American Spirit.? We anticipate approximately 400 attendees at Loews Philadelphia, and hope that you will join us.
The conference will bring together a diverse group of experiential educators engaged in internships, service-learning, cooperative education, community-based organizations, and others involved in experiential education. Our program will kick-off with professional development pre-conference workshops that are a part of our newly launched Experiential Education Academy (EEA) followed by two and one-half days of program workshops, roundtables, and other activities. We have slated approximately 50 sessions with an emphasis on service-learning, internships, and community programs. This year, our keynoters will be Ira Harkavy from the University of Pennsylvania and Jane Eisner, Editorial Columnist, from The Philadelphia Inquirer.
NSEE and Campus Compact have a long history of common interests and collaboration, and we hope that the Philadelphia Conference will extend that history and lead to continued networking and new conversations between our organizations for future collaborative initiatives not only at the regional but also national levels. We invite you to ?Experience Philadelphia with NSEE? and please do not hesitate to contact us if we can provide more information about the conference or NSEE.
