The National Partnership for Quality Afterschool Learning at SEDL and NWREL is pleased to announce a Southwest Regional Training Conference that will be held as a pre-conference event to the National Afterschool Association’s Annual Conference in Phoenix, AZ March 21-23, 2007. The pre-conference will be held on the afternoon of March 20 and we encourage everyone to attend both the pre-conference and the NAA annual conference. The National Partnership will also be offering a series of eight 90-minute workshops throughout the NAA conference on the practices in the six content areas of the Afterschool Training Toolkit.
The keynote speaker for the pre-conference will be Mindy DiSalvo, Ed.D, DeKalb County School System, Decatur, GA, who will be presenting on “Sustainability: Putting the Pieces Together.” This keynote will be followed by state meetings for Arizona, California, Nevada, and Utah afterschool programs to discuss how to implement sustainability ideas in their states. This will be followed by a networking reception with food and drink for SW Region pre-conference registrants.
