2004 PRIESTER EXTENSION NATIONAL HEALTH CONFERENCE
APRIL 14-16, PRE-CONFERENCE APRIL 13
ST. LOUIS, MO
ADAMS MARK HOTEL

Welcome to the 2004 Priester Extension National Health Conference website. Here you will find conference background and history, program and registration information, and the 2004 Priester Award. You will see that the Priester Conference is a great opportunity to build skills and knowledge in health programming and research, develop new partnerships and strengthen existing ones, and find new ideas and resources to stimulate health promotion in your community.

The theme for the 2004 Priester Conference is ?Impacting Health and Wellness: People and Communities Changing Risk Behaviors?. Pre-conferences, plenary sessions, workshops, presentations, roundtable discussions, and share fair exhibits highlight programs and research developed and implemented by Cooperative Extension professionals and their federal, state and local partners. These programs educate community members about preventive care, risky health behavior avoidance, and positive health behaviors to prevent and/or manage chronic illnesses. They also educate about community health infrastructure, health care access and quality, and health care literacy.

Previous conference participants include individuals from the Cooperative Extension System state and county offices, CSREES/USDA, Departments of Public Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Office of Rural Health, Bureau of Primary Health Care, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, National Cancer Institute, National 4H Council, National Rural Health Association, public school systems, local governments, private non-profits, faith based organizations, and other university departments of health related disciplines.
