National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week Resources
Posted by City of Philadelphia Mayor's Office on November 19, 2019
National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week began Saturday, November 16 and runs through next week—just before Thanksgiving.
In Philadelphia, one in five people goes to bed hungry or faces food insecurity. We’ve made progress—including increased supportive housing and services. Here are some helpful resources related to hunger and homelessness:
SNAP Community Education
Learn about SNAP benefits and eligibility.
Share Food Program and Philabundance
Donate food to Philadelphia food banks.
Free Meals
See a full list of free meal services compiled by the Office of Homeless Services.
Hunger in Philadelphia Dashboard
Find statistics about hunger and homelessness from the Office of Homeless Services.
As we prepare for another holiday season filled with family, friends, and joy, National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week reminds us to think about those who are less fortunate or going through tough times with their families.
