Teacher Workshop
Tips on Mentoring Students for National History Day
Rick Erickson, a retired classroom teacher and local education professor, will share his experience in successfully mentoring successive groups of students to the PA State and NHD National Finals. Rick has also been a Pennsylvania National History Day Teacher of the Year. At the national level, his students were winners in several categories – papers, exhibits, documentaries, and performances, as well as a number of special prizes. Most recently, he serves as a judge at the PA State Finals.
This program can be beneficial not only for this year, but also can help you think long-term about how you and your students can get the most out of the National History Day Program.
Location: November 29, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, located at 13th and Locust.
RSVP to this event by November 27, 2006 at 215.305.2002 or via e-mail: v.chapman-smith@nara.gov.
