The National Director is responsible for managing the administration of the National Health Corps (NHC), an AmeriCorps program whose mission is to increase access to health care for underserved communities, promote health, reduce health care costs and develop new health care professionals. Founded in 1994, the NHC has 88 members serving at sites in Chicago, North Florida, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. NHC members serve at over 60 community host sites including community health centers, county health departments, schools and community-based public health organizations.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Overall development, implementation, monitoring and administration of the NHC program model
- Design and coordinate impact and process evaluation activities with external evaluator; oversee program logic model and performance measure development, performance measure data collection and reporting, and program quality improvement
- Conduct on-site and remote program monitoring of program sites to ensure compliance with funder regulations and to assess program strengths
- Oversee NHC strategic planning process and implementation of NHC communications plan including social media and website
- Assist in identification of foundation and corporate funding opportunities; assist with grant writing and other fundraising activities
- Provide guidance, training and technical assistance to programs sites on all aspects of the program including compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate communication among operating sites; organize annual in-person meetings and regular conference call meetings with program staff; foster teambuilding among program site staff
- Develop and monitor program budget; work with Health Federation grants management staff to complete all required fiscal standards and reporting
