National Business Plan Competition for Nonprofit Organizations
Partnership on Nonprofit Ventures
Grants and technical assistance for nonprofits seeking to start or expand successful profit-making ventures will be awarded.Four grand prize winners will receive $100,000 and four semi-finalists will receive $25,000. With the cash, winners receive technical assistance for business planning.
To be eligible, nonprofits must have 501(c)(3) status, be headquartered in the U.S. and either be in the planning stages for establishing a profit-making business venture or have a business operation for no more than 24 months as of August 30, 2002.
The applicant venture can be a nonprofit subsidiary, a program of a nonprofit or a for-profit subsidiary. Applicants can seek to operate various types of businesses including fee for service, sales/manufacturing, cause-related marketing or renting/leasing property. Visit the website for more information.
