NASPA Civic Learning & Democratic Engagement Knowledge Community Volunteer Leadership Positions

The NASPA Civic Learning & Democratic Engagement Knowledge Community is currently rebuilding their volunteer leadership team and recruiting new regional representatives.

The Civic Learning & Democratic Engagement (CLDE) Knowledge Community (KC) is a space for professional development, idea generation, scholarship, and discussion related to the field of civic education and public service within the field of higher education student affairs. The CLDE KC supports student affairs professionals as they promote engaged citizenship and student development, encourage democratic participation in their communities, respect and appreciate diversity, and advocate applied learning and social responsibility.

As part of our rebuilding process, all seven volunteer regional representative positions are available. To identify the region that you would represent, you can find the regional map here.

Regional KC Representatives are responsible for the following duties:

• Serve on the appropriate National KC Chair’s leadership team and assist with achieving KC goals by leading Knowledge Community activity within their designated region
• Work to increase the number of NASPA members who affiliate with the KC
• Assist in moving the KC agenda forward
• Develop a regional KC leadership team that generates and shares knowledge with the region’s membership
• Meet virtually every other month with the full CLDE KC Leadership Team
• Attend KC coordinated programs/activities when available

You do not need to be a NASPA member to forward your interest, but appointed individuals will need to become NASPA members to be officially appointed to their role.
