Music is For Life: A Celebration of Music & Arts Education in Philadelphia
Posted by on January 13, 2014
Music is for Life is an event to bring together many of Greater Philadelphia’s ongoing, newly emerging, and interested organizations, educators, artists, allies, etc. to
1) celebrate the strides we all make to fill in the gaps where tremendous budget cuts (in both the education and public health sectors) have cut into our region’s ability to create dynamic music and art experiences for the next generation to learn lessons and flex their creative muscles. AND
2) to discuss and develop ways in which we as a collective can bridge our knowledge and networks to make our programming more effective, amass resources to continue our work, and construct platforms for our youth to shine.

This event also serves as a fundraiser for the upcoming Chester Sound spring cohort. The Chester Sound relaunches this year with students at Toby Farms Elementary School in Chester Township, PA. The project pairs students with emerging local artists and college mentors to develop a community conscious musical project.
