NCTM Accepting Applications From Pre-K-5 Math Teachers for Music-Focused Projects
The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics is accepting applications from teachers of pre-K-5 mathematics for projects that incorporate music into the classroom as a way to help young students learn math.
Grants of up to $3,000 will be awarded to individual elementary classroom teachers or small groups of teachers collaborating in one grade or across grades. Any acquisition of equipment must support the proposed plan but not be the primary focus of the grant. Proposals must address the combining of math and music, a plan for improving students’ learning of math, and/or the anticipated impact on students’ achievement.
Applicants must be a current Full Individual or E-Member of NCTM or teach in a school with a current NCTM PreK–8 school membership and currently teach math or collaborate with teachers of math in grades pre-K–2.
See the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics website for complete program guidelines and application information.
Deadline: November 2, 2018
