Mural Dedication at Center for Literacy

You’re invited to celebrate National Adult Education & Family Literacy Week with the Center for Literacy and the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program!
On Thursday, September 13th, from 5:30pm-7:30pm, the Center for Literacy will host a mural dedication and open house at our headquarters and learning center at 399 Market Street. Join us for cocktails, light hors d’oeuvres and literacy & art-themed activities. There will be a short program to recognize the hard work of the Mural Arts Program and artist Nathaniel Lee, as well as formally dedicate our “Learning for Life” mural, portraying the transformational power of literacy in the lives of local Philadelphians.

Free for lunch on Friday, September 14th?
Center for Literacy is taking over People’s Plaza (sw corner of 5th & Market Sts.)! Join us from noon-1pm as we exercise our First Amendment rights to speak out for literacy, showcase stories of student success, read writings from past SpeakOut books (CFL’s annual publication), and recognize the hard work of our students, staff, volunteers, partners and supporters. All are welcome! No RSVP required.
