ABOUT THIS EVENT
Each year, MYX: Multicultural Youth eXchange invites all Philadelphians between the ages of 9 – 24 (Philadelphia?s Youth Generation) to capture the spirit of their city and youth culture by contributing to two original, large- scale paintings.
Entitled Y PHILLY: An Identity Mural by Philadelphia?s Youth Generation, the completed murals are then presented to a pre-selected community abroad as a gift from our city.
In past years, MYX has created the Y PHILLY murals for youth communities in Incheon, Korea, Tel Aviv, Israel and Caracas, Venezuela.
This year the Y PHILLY murals will be presented to schools in Istanbul and Adana, Turkey, where Turkish students will simultaneously create their own youth identity murals for the youth of Philadelphia.
