Voter Registration Assistant
Job Responsibilities:
The Voter Registration Assistant will work with faculty, staff and other students on Columbia College Chicago’s non-partisan, 50-state voter registration drive. Tasks will include :
- visiting classes to present and/or assisting with voter registration presentations
- staffing the front desk at the Student Center to assist with voter registration
- checking forms prior to collecting them
- mailing completed forms and photocopies (for out-of-state IDs) to the appropriate state election offices
- updating a spreadsheet of classes presented in and students reached
- helping students check on their registration status
- helping students request absentee ballots
- providing efficient, accurate answers to questions about the voting process
Job Skills and Qualifications :
- passionate about voting
- excellent attention to detail
- excellent time management and organization skills
- comfortable with basic use of spreadsheets
- enrolled at Columbia College Chicago during the 2020/2021 school year
- maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress
- public speaking skills a plus
