Montco coalition highlights emergency preparedness
The Montgomery County Collaborative will hold a special event to help organizations and individuals learn what they need to do to develop and strengthen their emergency preparedness plans for themselves and assist local residents, especially those with diminished capacity or with special needs, to be safe and prepared.
At the meeting, Tom Sullivan, Director of Public Safety for Montgomery County, will share information on a new software program that will assist those with special needs. Dr. Joseph DiMino, Director of Health/Medical Director, Montgomery County Health Dept., and Kevin G. Smith, Deputy Director of Environmental Health Services and Bioterrorism, will discuss Pandemic Management; Ruth Saks from RSVP and Tanya Clinger of the Red Cross will review Individual Preparedness and Citizen?s Corps training; and Ed Momorella, Abington Emergency Management Administrator, will share what Abington has done through municipality collaboration.
The event will be held at the Montgomery County Human Services Center, 1420 DeKalb Street in Norristown, from 9:30-11:30am on Wednesday, June 6th.
