Mobilization and Campaign Support Intern

About the Position
Philadelphia Area Jobs with Justice is a coalition of labor unions and student, community, and faith groups. Together, we fight for the fair treatment of workers, organizing in local communities and workplaces. A major part of the organization’s work is supporting and harnessing the work of budding student labor activists in the Delaware Valley region.

Philly JwJ is seeking a part time fall intern to help with mobilization, campaign research, outreach, planning and implementation and communications in support of Philly Jobs with Justice.

Responsibilities include:
• Mobilization Committee Support
• Draft weekly blog posts about current campaigns/ events
• Supporting external social media (Twitter, Facebook, HootSuite, Email Blasts)
• Jump in and support other projects on an as needed basis.
• Research for Good Neighbors Revenue Campaign

We are seeking a candidate who can work 10-15 hours per week. We are open to work arrangements that involve working from home or campus a portion of the time. This position is unpaid, but will be a great opportunity to learn about how a small non-profit runs and have your work published to support economic justice in Philadelphia.

Skills
We are looking for someone with a strong passion for economic justice, excellent writing skills and familiarity with social media platforms. Interns are encouraged to attend our annual in-depth 3-day Community Organizing Training September 20-22. More information is available here. Scholarships are
