MLK Day Canned food drive
Posted by on January 10, 2003
The Philadelphia AmeriCorps Inter-Corps Council, along with the Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Day of Service, is sponsoring a city-wide 24-hour canned food drive on January 17th-18th, 12:00PM on Friday to 12:00 PM on Saturday. The event will be held at SHARE food, 2901 W. Hunting Park Ave. in North Philadelphia. All canned goods and other non-perishable food items will be donated to SHARE’s food bank. After the holiday rush, donations to area food banks rapidly decrease. It is the hope of the Philadelphia AmeriCorps programs that we might, with the help of partner organizations, do what we can to alleviate the symptoms of this problem. All donations can be dropped off at anytime during the 24-hours, or if necessary, pick-up can be arranged. Any assistance you could lend to our cause would be greatly appreciated! Questions can be directed to the YouthBuild Charter School AmeriCorps Team at 215-627-8671 ext. 36.
Thank you for your support,
