Migrant Education Program: Seeking Volunteers for Virtual Tutoring Program
Posted by Chester County Intermediate Unit on December 22, 2020
Chester County Intermediate Unit’s Migrant Education Program is looking for volunteers for the Spring semester of our virtual tutoring program!
Volunteers will connect with students via Zoom for after-school tutoring from 3:30 – 5:00 pm on Mondays (K-4th grade), Tuesdays (5-8th grade), or Wednesdays (9-12th grade). Programming will run from January 18 through May 26.
We are seeking volunteers ages 18 and up with experiences working with young people. Our students are speakers of many languages who are English Learners. Being a speaker of additional languages is not a requirement to become a tutor, but it is certainly welcomed!
Volunteers will need to submit a valid PA Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI fingerprint clearance (if residing in PA for less than 10 years). Once clearances are received, volunteers will participate in an orientation session to learn more about the students they will serve and to explore the supportive resources available for our tutors.
Please complete our volunteer interest form to get involved!
Questions? Please contact Karisa Barlow at karisab@cciu.org. Thank you for your interest in supporting our students!
