NCTM Accepting Applications for Middle School Course Work Scholarships
The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics is accepting applications from prospective middle school mathematics teachers for Teacher Coursework scholarships.
The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial support to college or university students preparing to teach middle school mathematics. For 2017-18, one scholarship with a maximum value of $3,000 will be awarded to an individual who is currently completing his/her junior year of college, scheduling full-time study at a four- or five-year college or university in the next academic year, and is interested in pursuing a career goal of becoming a certified teacher of middle school mathematics.
Scholarship funds can be applied to tuition, fees, course materials, and other expenses directly related to the recipient’s academic program of study. Any acquisition of equipment must support the applicant’s plan of study but not require more than 10 percent, or $300, of the entire scholarship.
Coursework and graduation is to be completed between April 1, 2018, and August 31, 2019.
See the NCTM website for complete program guidelines, information about past recipients, and application instructions.
Deadline: May 4, 2018
