Job Title: Middle School Counselor
Qualifications:
Candidate will hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 2 years of experience; master’s degree preferred; or any combination of education and related experience
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Middle School Counselor position is initially a part-time, ten-month position with a possibility of full-time employment. He/She will serve the program’s target middle schools. The Middle School Counselor will report to the Director and Assistant Director. The Counselor will be expected to perform all the duties outlined below:
1) perform tasks as assigned by Director and/or Assistant Director that pertain to the daily operation of the program;
2) provide career counseling, academic counseling, and tutoring as needed by participants;
3) facilitate trips, events, and activities that align with program objectives
4) provide and disseminate educational and college-prep information to participants
5) assemble, maintain, and complete student files throughout the program year;
6) coordinate with school personnel, community agencies, and other organizations to provide services to program participants;
