Micah 6 Announcement
The Bonner Foundation has approved funding for new projects and renewed projects for Micah 6: The Bonner Connection. Awards for the year 2002-03 will be up to $5,000 each. Proposals for new and renewed projects are due on May 24, 2002.
Goal of the Bonner Foundation’s Micah 6 Connection: Inspired by the challenge of Scripture in Micah 6, the goal of the Bonner Foundation’s Micah 6 Connection is to give support and guidance to college programs in developing partnerships with local congregations, which engage students in social justice, service, and spiritual enrichment.
Amount of Bonner funding for each Micah 6 Connection: $5,000 for the year ’02-03
The Challenges for a Micah 6 Connection:
? A team of students and advisors work in partnership with a local congregation, to plan and implement a one-year program for service and social justice in the community.
? Students and advisors in the Micah 6 Connection participate in a program of spiritual reflection on their call and commitment to service and social justice.
Micah 6 Workshops: A Micah 6 Workshop will be offered during the Bonner SLI at Wofford College (June 15). An additional Micah 6 workshop will be held in the fall, focusing on our spiritual journeys in a context of service and social justice. Representatives from participating Micah 6 partnerships should plan to attend these two workshops.
Applications may be submitted by mail, fax, or by e-mail attachment, to be received by May 24, 2002.
