Mental Health Research Fellowship for BIPOC Students: Active Minds Emerging Scholars

Posted by Active Minds on October 10, 2023

Are you a college student passionate about youth mental health? Are you interested in being mentored by experts in the mental health field but unsure of how to start your research journey? The Active Minds Emerging Scholars Fellowship is a perfect opportunity to receive funding for your own research project concerning mental health, and is currently accepting applications!

The Emerging Scholar Fellowship, generously supported by the Scattergood Foundation for Behavioral Health, is a unique opportunity for six students who identify as Black, Indigenous, and/or Persons of Color (BIPOC). Selected fellows submit their research proposals or creative projects related to mental health and are limitless in the content their project can entail. Fellows in previous years have focused on everything from an art-making workshop designed to prompt discussion around the interplay of race, gender, and culture from the perspectives of East Asian/American women to linguistic studies on language surrounding mental health stigmatization.

Your research has the power to change the world, and the Emerging Scholars Fellowship is here to help you make that happen. Active Minds is excited to facilitate change by supporting scholars with diverse perspectives and backgrounds, helping to lay the foundation for a just society.

To submit your proposal, visit our application here. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact [email protected]. We look forward to reviewing your applications and seeing your incredible research projects that will come to life through the Emerging Scholars Fellowship.
