‘Mental Health First Aid’ aims to address mental health challenges
Mental Health First Aid is a 12-hour training certification course which teaches participants a five-step action plan to assess a situation, select and implement interventions and secure appropriate care for an individual experiencing a mental health problem or crisis. The certification program introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems, builds understanding of their impact and overviews common treatments.
The Consortium will offer a training in Mental Health First Aid on Friday, November 11th and Friday, November 18th from from 9am to 4:30pm at 3801 Market Street, Suite 201 in Philadelphia. The training is open to staff, neighbors, family members, community organizations and anyone who has contact with the public.
