Men In The Motion In The Community Kick-Off Event

Come Join Us For MIMIC Month!
MIMIC (Men In The Motion In The Community) would like to invite you to a series of events throughout the month of April. We are often asked about the variety of activities that the organization is involved in, and we are often asked not only for explanations of the activities but also if it would be possible to participate. We decided that it would be great to give people an opportunity to see who we are and what we do through opening the doors to many of the activities that we have been engaged in over the past several years. It is important to our ever evolving organization that community partners and stakeholders understand what we do and how we can partner with you. We are hoping that during this month of events, new ideas come to mind about how we can best serve one another.
We encourage you to look through this list and to choose some times to come out and get to know both the members as well as the work that we do. We also encourage you to forward this message to your partners and friends so that even more people can become aware of the exciting month of activities that they may like to participate in.
MIMIC Month Event Calendar
MIMIC Month Kick-Off: Thursday, April 7th, 6-9pm
What is MIMIC?
For those of you not as familiar with Men In The Motion In The Community, MIMICs mission is, “To build bridges of community support and social bonds for Philadelphia’s high risk youth, young adults and previously incarcerated men, through mentoring, community engagement and educational enrichment.” MIMIC is primarily based in the Kensington/Fairhill area of Philadelphia, and is a community based and youth development organization that is uniquely prepared to engage the hardest to reach young males. The members of MIMIC are members of the same communities they serve, sharing similarities in culture, language and background. Additionally, many members of MIMIC are ex-offenders that have returned to their community as productive, upstanding citizens, modeling for young people the steps necessary to create profound change and the value of second chances
MIMIC Month Kick-Off: Thursday, April 7th, 6-9pm, at Concilio (7th and Fairmount, Philadelphia PA 19123)
Simply stated this event is a celebration of the work of MIMIC, a thank you to partners and the opportunity for potential partners to get to know us a bit better. Just as importantly this event will also serve as the official launch of both our Website our Newsletter, and our Menu of Services. This is the perfect opportunity to not only celebrate but to find out specifically what MIMIC does and how it is done. With this information in hand this is also a great time for you to think about how we can work together in the future. Reflective of MIMIC the event is come as you are (in terms of dress) and simple but good food will be served for free (courtesy of our Sponsors), as with any event we are involved in we don’t want anyone to be excluded because they don’t have the “right” clothes, or the price of admission, consider this our gift to you. Because there is no cost for attendees, it is critical that you RSVP by April 1st through the following link.
