Job description
The National Liberty Museum in historic Philadelphia seeks an energetic and goal-oriented Membership Director. This position offers an exciting new opportunity to develop, manage and promote a comprehensive membership program including the cultivation and retention of members at all levels and plan a wide array of programs and other benefits to attract new members. The person hired will be a core part of the Museum’s leadership team and will work closely with the CEO, SVP of Development and other senior staff. Responsibilities include:

Job Description

·Create and manage a strategic plan for membership growth and donor cultivation

·Formulate and manage annual membership expense and revenue budgets designed to reach targeted goals

·Achieve annual program and membership financial goals

·Plan, budget and execute a wide array of member cultivation and outreach events to attract potential new members

·Execute membership cultivation and engagement events for existing members

·Work closely with all Museum departments as well as outside artists, lecturers, authors, scholars and others to produce and promote the events

·Launch member acquisition and renewal campaigns using a variety of communication and marketing methods

·Develop and upgrade strategies to grow all levels of members

·Research and identify new sources to grow the membership base

·Oversee recognition programs and timely acknowledgement and fulfillment of benefits

·Create and monitor effective reporting to track membership sales against goals

·Train visitor services staff to sell membership program to visitors and assist with members’ needs

·Establish and oversee all operations, policies and procedures of the Membership Department

·Write and edit weekly membership e-blast
