Job Description

This is a full-time position working with the Executive Director and Development and Canvass Directors to maintain and develop a strong membership base for the Clean Air Council. In addition, the Membership Coordinator works to build a membership component throughout all the Council programs and events.

CAC Membership Program

The Council is a 5,000 strong member-supported, environmental nonprofit organization working to protect everyone’s right to breathe clean air through public education, community advocacy, and government oversight.

Responsibilities

Oversee the membership program, ensuring expanded membership recruitment and maintaining positive and regular contact with members particularly major donors
Work with the Development and Canvass Directors to manage the overall fundraising development of the organization
Evaluate and, if appropriate, implement a membership benefits program; includes building partnerships with outside organizations and businesses
Participate as an active team member for Council events including the 5K Run for Clean Air, Greenfest, and Anniversaries; organize separate member events
Coordinate the publication of the Council’s quarterly newsletter Fresh Air
Analyze and interpret incoming and outgoing membership data such as revenue and expenses; generate membership reports
Process and manage all aspects of membership program including: conduct various letter appeals and renewals throughout the year, checking online donations, sending weekly thank you letters, processing mail donations, etc.

Requirements

Prior experience working in a nonprofit with membership and/ or marketing
Prior database experience preferably with Salesforce.com
Demonstrated project and people management ability
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Independent and self-motivated, yet work well with others
Well-organized with solid time management skills and attention to detail and accuracy
Enthusiastic and interested in environmental issues
