Department of Public Health – Media Specialist Positions

The Philadelphia Department of Public Health is recruiting for a Tobacco Policy and Control Media Specialist and a Nutrition and Physical Activity Media Specialist.

Both positions are temporary two-year positions contingent on the availability of continued grant funding.
The Tobacco Policy and Control Media Specialist will coordinate the development, implementation, and evaluation of broad-based, hard-hitting media campaigns focused on promoting aided cessation attempts among smokers and increasing awareness of youth tobacco sales as a public health issue.  S/he will also coordinate press and media placements for the initiative.  This position reports to the Tobacco Policy and Control Program Manager.

The Nutrition and Physical Activity Media Specialist will coordinate the development, implementation, and evaluation of media campaigns focused on promoting the availability of fresh, healthy goods in community settings; changing social norms; around eating to encourage limited portion sized and reduced sugar-sweetened beverage intake and promoting walking and biking to work and decreasing screen time among children.  S/he will also coordinate press and media placements for the initiative.  This position reports to the Nutrition and Physical Activity Program Manager.
