ROADMAP FOR MEASURING COMMUNITY GROUPS? IMPACT ON EDUCATION
Recognizing the growing role of community organizing in implementing public school reform, New York University?s Institute for Education and Social Policy has released a study to measure the impact of organizing on outcomes in primary education. The work is the first in a series of papers examining relationships between community organizing and the development of district and school capacity to improve student achievement. “Constituents of Change: Community Organizations and Public Education Reform,” a report on the initial findings of a six-year study of school reform organizing funded by the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, examines how eight community groups conceptualize their goals and organize to
improve public education.
