Penn’s Village is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, operated by and for residents of Center City (river to river and Spring Garden Street to Washington Avenue) who wish to remain independent and in their own homes as they age or have special needs. Founded in 2008, Penn’s Village offers membership and volunteer opportunities that link neighbor to neighbor and is endorsed by AARP.
Position Description
Coordinate marketing and communications functions under the guidance of the Communications Committee, including:
• Preparation of press releases and circulation to media
• Organization of marketing to high rises, religious communities, and civic associations including circulation of articles for newsletters, flyers about events, and general posters
• Publicity for educational and social events
• Design social media program for Penn’s Village
• Maintain media, high rise, and congregation data bases
• Create a database of contact information for health care and social service agencies
• Update website and keywords
• Assist with development of public relations materials
• Other related tasks
Qualifications
• Marketing or communications major at area college or university
• Excellent writing skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to advise organization on the use of social media
15-20 hours per week. Can work in the office and/or at home.
