AmeriCorps Position Description-Marketing and Communications
The AmeriCorps member will enhance the visibility of EW programs. Under the direction of the Director of Development and Marketing, the member will:
• Assist in the development of a comprehensive marketing plan
• Write, produce and coordinate distribution of
o 8 agency newsletters annually
o eblasts
o Bi-weekly news and announcements for the EW home page
o Press releases
o Agency packet information
o Materials for events such as MLK service day, service awards, etc.
o Marketing flyers and brochures
• Maintain contacts in Salesforce and Vertical Response databases (e.g. add new contacts, update contacts or delete non-current contacts)
• Prepare bulk mailings
• Coordinate with proofreader
• Update and manage organization photographic database
o Input new photos with consideration for composition, clarify and Photoshop if necessary
Label photos for easy identification
• Assist in maintaining EW’s presence in social media
Requirements:
• Excellent writing skills
• Experience writing in school/professional newspaper/newsletter, preferred
• Experience in digital photography and editing
• Knowledge and experience in the following software:
o MS Office
o Database programs
o Facebook postings/admin
o Photoshop/publications creation
